Mary E. Harkins
Mary Harkins is a general practice attorney focused in the areas of divorce, family law, criminal defense (including DUI and reckless driving), wills & estates, personal injury, and appeals. Ms. Harkins has tried over 1,000 trials, including 7 first-degree murder trials.

Mary E. Harkins has practiced law since 1989. Out of law school, she was appointed to the United States Justice Department’s Honor Program and served as staff counsel to the United States Trustee in Richmond and Roanoke, Virginia. After leaving the Justice Department, she entered private practice. Ms. Harkins was the 1997 Democratic candidate for Virginia’s 9th District seat to the House of Delegates. She served as Chairperson of the Franklin County Democratic Committee. Ms. Harkins also holds the Silver Medal from the 2002 Commonwealth Games in tennis for women’s open doubles.
